Harworth occurs as village in the county of Nottinghamshire, in the Midlands of England. These are about eight miles northward of Worksop. A Harworth coalpit employs Five hundred humans & has a deepest shaft in the UK. It produces chiefly coal for the power stations on the Trent.

a village - when a occupy coalmining community - is particularly noteworthy when the front yard of Tom Simpson (1937-1967), Britain's greatest road racing cyclist - World Champion within 1965. When his tragical demise around France, his body was brought back to Nottinghamshire & interred around Harworth's burying ground. The little museum dedicated to his achievements (opened inside August 2001) may be discovered in the Harworth & Bircotes sports and guild.
